Update from the Royal Danish Consulate

Golden Week Closing Days
The General Consulate in Shanghai will be closed three days during the Golden Week. Closing days are October 1st, 2nd and 3rd, 2019. Monday 30th and Friday 4th will be open per usual.

Minister Visit to Shanghai
In September, the Danish minister for food, fisheries and equal opportunities, and the minister for Nordic cooperation, Mogens Jensen, visited China for the first time. With an aim to strengthen Danish quality food products in China, he attended meetings in Shanghai and Beijing. He also went to the nearby city of Pinghu to officially open Danish Crown’s new factory, which marks great progress for the Danish company in China, and Danish food products in general.

Movie Night
The General Consulate’s Danish Movie Night series returned, as we in September screened the critically acclaimed “Darling”, directed by Danish director Birgitte Stærmose, which centered around the highly competitive world of ballet dancing. We would like to thank all of the participants, and of course urge everyone to attend our next movie night, which we will announce soon.

PanzerGlass T-Mall Launch
Danish company PanzerGlass has long been known on the domestic Danish market, but have now expanded to the Chinese market. In cooperation with the Danish Consulate General in Shanghai, a live-streaming event was held to celebrate their launch on T-Mall, which included “hammer tests” of their protection glasses, and networking with potential working partners in China.

Chinese Cruise Ship to Denmark
Danish tourists will soon get the opportunity to explore the Arctic Ocean on the first cruise ship built in China. The ship, which is the result of a successful partnership between Denmark and China, is built by China Merchants Group, financed by SunStone Ships and operated by the Danish travel company Albatros. The Danish Consul General in Shanghai, Jakob Linulf, partook in the ships keel laying ceremony, and the ship “Ocean Victory” is expected ready to sail in 2020.

Danish Robotics Shanghai Seminar
Robots are the workforce of the future. Fortunately, we are very good at designing and building these in Denmark, which was displayed during this year’s Danish Robotics Shanghai Seminar, which the Consulate General in Shanghai housed for the fourth time. At the seminar, Invest in Denmark and Innovation Centre Denmark had invited RoboTool, SYD Dynamics, Lorentz Technologies, Nordbo Robotics, Scape Technologies, EY and Invest in Odense to meet with potential Chinese investors.
